With over 15 years of accounting experience in various industries including the mortgage industry, banking and defense contracting, her passion has always been helping businesses thrive.
In this ever evolving world of technology that we live in Kristan has seen first hand the benefits of how it can automate processes and help maintain accuracy. With her love of learning and problem solving, she started Compass Rose Bookkeeping to use the knowledge she has picked up to make small business owner’s jobs easier.
With the ease of technology also comes the risk of vulnerability. Compass Rose Bookkeeping understands the dangers of cyberattacks and uses secure programs such as Quickbooks Online, Zoho Password Vault, and Liscio for file sharing.
Having worked in the financial industry for years, Kristan knows how important integrity and accuracy are when it comes to bookkeeping and accounting and follows the GAAP guidelines. Starting her career in the defense industry and then moving to the mortgage industry in 2009 when the Dodd-Frank Act went into affect, she has experience with extensive federal guidelines and reporting.
